Support us?

Welcome to Pedal People – we’d be delighted to welcome you aboard

We have just 2.2 staff and 50 volunteers. We put all our resources into managing rides, so fundraising is always a huge challenge as we have to compete for donations and funds from a starting point of less resources. Many charities are able to employ full-time fundraisers but our operational staff are responsible for this alongside all their other work too.

Our local charity offers accessible cycle rides for Elders as well as ‘All-Ages’ living with disability or health needs.

We provide invigorating, fun, uplifting and (often only) outdoor activity via 2 different services:

1.      Elder Care Rides: Weekly schedule, bookable through care providers. These cycles are piloted by our team of 44 volunteers.

2.      All-ages Accessible Rides: At this service we train carers, friends, family to pilot. Variety of pedal/non-pedal/electric assist trikes available.

We really, really do need your kind support for people of all ages who cannot otherwise access the benefits of being outside on cycles.

  • Give monthly or quarterly or a one-off donation a regular gift to Pedal People is one of the most special ways to give. It means we can better plan for the future – as well as to ensure that we’re able to continue each year.  If you’d like to make any type of donation, please click our red ‘donate’ button at the foot of any of our web pages.

  • Leave a gift in your Will - A lasting legacy gift will help sustain our work for many more people to benefit from in years to come.

  • Celebrate with us! Facebook birthdays – or any other kind of birthdays – are a truly helpful and wonderful way to celebrate with Pedal People. We’d be so glad if you’d choose us. Look for the menu option of ‘raise money’ or ‘fundraisers’ via your Facebook page and you can set-up a fundraiser in 1-minute

  • Fundraise at work. Whether you run a business or work with a fantastic team, we’d love to be part of it. You can nominate us as your company’s charity of the year, consider corporate sponsorship (we can send you info on this), payroll giving, or get your colleagues together for a sponsored challenge. Just email us to tell us more about what you’d like to do and we can send you a poster / photos / thank you certificate.

  • Personal sponsored events.   Set up your own organisation/company/individual fundraising page on Go Fund me.

Your page then collects gift aid (25% extra on UK tax-payer donations). Larger total, faster and no admin!

We REALLY really do need your kind support. We cannot keep our wheels turning without it. Our highest need is always day-to-day running costs. This helps us cover things like cycle parts and adaptable specialist cycle equipment (lots needed, our rides are out ‘back-to-back’ and number several thousand a year so there is plenty of wear and tear!) As well as ride team and pilot training.

If you’d like some ideas for some specific fundraising goals - we are always happy to provide some and here’s a couple to get you thinking…
